The Cellar Door Project is a site-specific theatre company dedicated to re-animating community spaces through performance. Be it theatre, film, or art installations, we are in the business of reflecting a community’s past and present back to them by its telling their stories in the spaces they originally happened in. We collectively create site-specific pieces based on characters and stories that unfolded in the same space in which the audience sits. So far, these spaces have a park, live radio, a cemetery, 2 old jails, a record store, a Kingston fort, the National Arts Centre Rehearsal Hall, a dive bar, and the Diefenbunker. |
The Cellar Door Project continues to redefine how well crafted site-specific theatre can best engage with history. This is a company whose star is rising, catch their work now.
